A few weeks ago, I finished reading a book that I purchased earlier to learn more on Facebook marketing.
I found the book author by accident while I was reading one of his guest posts. After reading the article, I instantly decided to go and purchase his book, which I after realized that it was one of the best decisions I’ve made towards my social media marketing understanding.
When the book has arrived, I couldn’t wait to read it because I knew that the material is great based on the table of content and the feedback received on this book.
While I was very busy doing various tasks, I tried to dedicate at least 1 hour a day reading it, so it didn’t take me a long time before completing it. After doing so, I’ve been able to come out with a more solid understanding of Facebook marketing and few dozens of ideas that I’ll be implementing and sharing with you in the course of the next months (I’ll discuss the ones that I already applied in future posts). This book was an eye opener for me, and I hope it will be the same for you as well.
The book that I’m talking about is Brian Carter’s “The Like Economy: How Businesses Make Money With Facebook” (affiliate link). It’s a detailed book that discusses Facebook marketing in details from a selling perspective.
What I liked about this book
Unlike other marketing books that talk about theories, The Like Economy is full of actionable information that you can implement right away either to grow your Facebook fanbase or sell more through this platforms. Brian also includes examples and case studies with every example he discusses, and this is what made the book even richer and actionable.
Many people don’t realize that profit is achieved in many ways through Facebook. In the 4th chapter, Brian discusses the 5 ways businesses achieve profit through Facebook. This chapter will show you the profit model that best suits your business. It also gives you tons of actionable ideas to implement right away to start seeing real profits from your Facebook marketing efforts.
In the 6th chapter “Facing the Facts: How to Continuously Get Better Results with the Five Steps of Optimization”, he discusses the 5 easy steps that everyone should follow to keep getting better results with Facebook.
Although I enjoyed reading all of the 15 chapters that this book offers, one of them has really helped me increase Facebook fan engagement. In the 11th chapter “Talking Till you’re Blue in the Face: How to Get more Likes and Comments”, Brian lists proven templates that will bring in likes, comments and shares. I’ve already applied some of them, and the results have been phenomenal. This chapter gives you the best status updates’ formulas that you can replicate right away to start seeing likes, comments and shares even if you have a small following. The great thing is that it explains to you why each status update performs the way you want it to, so you can come up with better ones yourself once you understand the principal.
There is actually a lot more in this book to cover, but I’m going to stop here so you can read it yourself and implement its tactics to profit from Facebook.
What I didn’t like in this book?
It’s very rare that I read a book and not come up with few things that I didn’t like, but as far as I can tell, I couldn’t spot any negative thing in this book.
While many people complain about the fact that this book talks a lot about Facebook advertising, for me, it was probably the best thing that this book discusses. The Like Economy has helped me realize the true power of Facebook advertising, and that’s why I already applied some of the tactics mentioned in this book (I’ll be sharing the case study soon).
Besides its emphasis on Facebook advertising, Brian gives tons of actionable information that you can apply right away to grow your fanbase and start seeing real profits from Facebook all for free.
I believe that The Like Economy has changed the way I do Facebook marketing, and it should do the same thing for you if you’re struggling to grow your fanbase or make sales through this very powerful marketing platform.
If you’ve read this book, please leave a comment explaining how it has helped you achieve better results from Facebook. If you haven’t yet, then I advise you to go and grab it HERE.
